"Ladsminds is a great idea it gives the opportunity to the workforce to actually speak to someone that knows what they might be going through especially when it is hard for men to talk to someone having someone to speak to that is on your level is it a lot easier. Caimin donlon has done a fantastic job on rolling out the scheme and the braveness to go to sites and talk to people and very hard"
“The impact that Ladsminds presentations have had on the workforce is quite significant from my viewpoint, the emphasis on the mental health of construction site operatives driven by a team which actually are construction operatives is really refreshing. The real passion behind the message of awareness and for everyone to understand that there is a lot to be grateful for went down really well led to some really insightful conversations amongst the team. The fact that construction site operatives have such a high rate of suicides is the target that LadsMinds have in their sights and to raise conversations around this can only help”
"LadsMinds have helped show me how to open up, to share my feelings, to find my confidence by standing up to confront bullies and work through any issues. I am so grateful that I have gotten my life back on track. I thank Caimin and Lads Minds for giving us this great platform to open up and speak up about our mental health & personal issues.
I thank Jemelin for showing us the power of gratitude and positivity. Lads Minds has really helped me with my struggles. I have been to some real low points with bullying, financial issues, mental health and keeping it all inside. So, I Know how it feels. Thankyou LadsMinds”
“Hi, I’m Jemelin Artigas — entrepreneur, motivational speaker, and you might have seen me on The Apprentice (Series 15). I’m also now a spokesperson for LadsMinds.
When I was first told by Caimin about this idea, never in a million years did I think that the suicide rate in the construction industry was three times higher than the national average for men. I was even more shocked that I had never heard about it! These workers face severe weather conditions, long hours, dangerous jobs, and many are away from their loved ones for extended periods — so how has no one seen this before?
There are many charities and organisations out there, but nothing specifically targeting this industry — the workers on site. I’m someone who has personally suffered with mental health, and I was fortunate to learn some simple tools that helped me get into a better state of mind.
So when I heard about LadsMinds, I jumped right in. I know the industry needs awareness, and I couldn’t be more excited to be part of it. I feel this is a forgotten sector — one that doesn’t get the recognition or care it deserves. I’m so grateful to be part of this transformation, helping everyone build a better mindset and live a happier life.
This movement isn’t just going to revolutionise the industry — it’s going to change lives. And for us, that’s all that matters. So make sure you help us and join us on this journey.”
